Server Senior Administrator

Job Description:

DPP is seeking a Senior Server Administrator for an opportunity with our client in the healthcare insurance industry.

Work location: Onsite Tues., Wed., Thurs., in Columbia, SC; work from home Mon. and Fri.
Duration: 12 months
Terms: W2 contract
Work authorization: Candidates must be eligible to earn a low-level (Public Trust) US security clearance.

Position summary:

Support Windows Server OS and hardware, including troubleshooting, maintenance, system installations, and end-user support.
Participate in incident response, patching, security mediation, audit support, and on-call rotation

About the Windows Server team:

The team works well together and supports over 2,000 servers, primarily virtualized on VMware with some physical infrastructure.
The team also supports security remediation efforts and maintains compliance with enterprise patching and audit requirements.
Successful candidates will be collaborative, dependable, and technically strong.

Certifications (preferred):

CompTIA A+, Network+, and/or Security+

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Strong technical knowledge of servers, communications, and related hardware and software. Knowledge of server technologies and platforms. Strong technical skills including problem analysis of server systems.
Able to gather information to troubleshoot various server problems.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate technical issues with non-technical people.
Strong customer service skills.
Strong knowledge of common server administration, monitoring, and security utilities.
Experience supporting security findings remediation, including vulnerability analysis, patching, and corrective actions.
Strong understanding of relevant server hardware and software.

Required work experience:

4 years of server administration or other job-related experience.

Required education/equivalencies:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other job-related degree;
OR, Associates degree in CS, IT, or other job-related degree plus 2 years of work-related experience;
OR, 4 years job-related work experience (total 8 years without a degree)

Preferred education/experience:

Bachelor&39;s degree
5+ years of experience working in infrastructure/server environments, including monitoring (hardware and/or software) and system implementations.

Scheduling:

Standard Hours - 8:30AM - 5:00PM
On call rotation (typically once every 5 weeks for one week)
Ability to drive to the client location 24x7x365 when on call
Must live within 45 minutes of the location
Occasional evening, weekend, and off-hours work required

Work environment:

Fast paced, multi-platform environment which may require action and response 24X7 to support the technical business needs of the customer.
