Job Description BAE Systems is looking for a Sr. Systems Engineer experienced in configuring, deploying, and maintaining IBM’s Enterprise Lifecycle Management (ELM) tool suite (and associated tools/DB) as Application as Code (AaC) to join our visible technical program driving the Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) cloud platform that supports collection, management and analysis of digital engineering information in an architecture that provides seamless digital thread and enables tool interoperability, including data structures suitable for AI applications. The program delivers engineering services for Linux and Windows cloud-based infrastructure as well as sophisticated enterprise computing infrastructure including end-point devices, Cloud services, virtualized applications, and storage systems. Enterprise Computing Engineering services include modern application technology including containerized solutions with orchestrated workflows. Our platform uses a mix of Open Source, Government-off-the-Shelf (GOTS) and Commercial off-the-Shelf (COTS) software and targets cloud-native constructs. The environment offers a secure-by-default configuration, implementing an Infrastructure-as-Code approach, and governance policies. Responsibilities:
- Provide IT technical services and technical expertise in systems, technical infrastructure, tools, modeling, external interfaces, and other technical areas
- Configure, deploy and maintain IBM Enterprise Lifecycle Management (as AaC using CI/CD pipeline in a cloud-based environment)
- Work with internal engineering resources as well as customer end-users to design and enhance the user interfaces for supported applications, maintaining responsive designs that accommodate challenging technical and functional requirements
- Create and maintain comprehensive test plans
- Support operations functions, including root cause identification, remediation and documentation (e.g., user guides, ‘how to’ guides, infrastructure diagrams)
- Work closely with clients and cross-functional departments on technical issues including software system troubleshooting and maintenance and to communicate project statuses
- Monitor system performance
- Test new features, services and fix bugs
- Configure and deploy applications as code in CI/CD pipeline using DevSecOps tools to include Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, GitLab, IdAM, Active Directory, LDAP resources
- Prepare technical presentations for government and senior leadership
- Work effectively in a team environment
- Work across infrastructure that contains both Linux (60) and Windows (40)
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical, management and customer both written and verbally
- Utilize robust troubleshooting skills
- Instill and apply solid engineering rigor, to include configuration management, testing
- Develop/engineer as part of an Agile scrum team
