Job Description

The Etch Line Operator – Level 1 prepares metal products for etching by cleaning, masking, inspecting, and moving parts through the etch line process in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to follow established procedures while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area. You will work with solvent cleaners and heavy chemicals to ensure all contaminants are removed and support consistent, high-quality production.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare products for etching by performing thorough cleaning, masking, and visual inspection of parts.
  • Perform basic racking and unracking of parts and move products through the etch line process according to established procedures.
  • Use solvent cleaners to remove all traces of organic soils, fingerprints, dirt, dust, and other contaminants from products.
  • Visually inspect parts at various stages to ensure quality standards and process specifications are met.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper handling and storage of chemicals and materials.
  • Follow all organizational safety rules, regulations, and standard operating procedures at all times.
  • Demonstrate strong accountability and attention to detail in all tasks, including documentation and adherence to work instructions.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and leadership to report issues, suggest improvements, and support production goals.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and tasks in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining quality and productivity.
  • Represent the company in a positive and professional manner, upholding strong business ethics and compliance with company policies.
  • Perform work on products that may be controlled under applicable export regulations, following all required procedures and guidelines.
Essential Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–2 years of shop experience, preferably in a manufacturing, metal fabrication, or general shop environment.
  • Experience in general labor, production, or assembly within the manufacturing industry.
  • Ability to perform masking and basic racking of parts in an etch line or similar process.
  • Strong math skills to support measurements, counts, and process checks.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools, equipment, and machinery.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accountability in following procedures and quality standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment and adapt to changing tasks.
  • Good communication skills to interact with coworkers and leadership in a professional manner.
  • Ability to follow safety rules and handle chemicals and solvents safely.
  • Capability to move about the facility and perform occasional moderate lifting of parts and materials from 5 lbs to 75 lbs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a metal fabrication shop or similar industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with etching processes or chemical treatment of metal components.
  • Comfort working with heavy chemicals, solvents, and related equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and resourcefulness in addressing production or quality issues.
  • Willingness to learn and follow export control and related regulatory procedures as required by the assignment.

Work Environment

This role is based in a non–climate-controlled metal fabrication shop that uses heavy chemicals as part of the etching process. The position is on 1st shift, working Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with two 10-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch. You must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, moving about the facility, and occasionally lifting parts and materials ranging from 5 lbs to 75 lbs. The work area exposes you to typical shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, odors, and temperature variations. The role requires completion of a physical and adherence to safety requirements, including wearing steel-toed shoes, hearing protection (provided), and safety glasses (provided).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tulsa, OK.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.
