Job Title: Assistant - Grave Shift
Job DescriptionThis role focuses on packaging and wrapping finished aerospace products while supporting a variety of shop activities as needed. You will work as part of a collaborative production team, gain exposure to specialized metal finishing processes, and have the opportunity to grow into long-term roles in areas such as anodizing, plating, or masking.
Responsibilities
- Package and wrap finished aerospace products accurately and safely according to written instructions and quality standards.
- Assist with masking parts and other production-related tasks as needed, with cross-training provided in both packaging and masking.
- Follow detailed written instructions, work orders, and production guidelines to ensure consistent and reliable output.
- Support a fast-paced production environment by maintaining productivity, meeting deadlines, and adapting to changing priorities.
- Perform general shop duties outside of the warehouse area, including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining a safe and orderly work area.
- Operate production machinery and equipment as assigned, using proper procedures and safety practices.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors, communicate effectively, and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work culture.
- Follow established lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices to support efficiency and quality throughout the facility.
- Handle and move materials and finished products safely; use forklifts if certified and as required by the operation.
Essential Skills- Ability to read and follow written instructions accurately.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced production or manufacturing facility.
- Willingness to perform general shop duties outside of warehouse tasks, including clean-up and basic housekeeping.
- Machine operator experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong teamwork skills and a willingness to help in different areas of the shop as needed.
- Ability to adapt to cross-training in both packaging and masking functions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Forklift certification is a plus and may be used to support material handling and product movement.
- Experience in general manufacturing, assembly, or production environments.
- Interest in learning specialized metal finishing processes such as anodizing, plating, masking, and coating.
- Comfort working in a structured environment that uses lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methods.

Work Environment
The role is based in a spacious, modern metal finishing and plating facility that supports aerospace, defense, commercial, industrial, recreational, and electronics markets. The operation offers a full range of processing services in one location, including mechanical processes such as shotpeen, polishing, and abrasive blasting; aluminum processing including multiple anodize chemistries, chemical conversion coating, and hard anodize; electrolytic plating such as chrome, titanium cadmium, cadmium, and zinc-nickel; coatings and paints including primers, fuel tank coatings, topcoats, dry lubricants, and intumescent coatings; and non-destructive testing such as fluorescent penetrant, magnetic particle, and nital etch. Additional capabilities include zinc spray, magnesium processing, and passivation. The facility supports lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices and serves customers across the U.S., North America, and Europe. You will work in a production environment with machinery, processing lines, and material handling equipment, where safety, cleanliness, and adherence to procedures are emphasized. Dress and attire will align with a manufacturing and metal finishing setting, including appropriate protective gear as required by specific processes and tasks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kent, WA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.60 - $19.60/hr.
